Dorothy Harris Ross was born February 28 ,1945 in Bessemer, Alabama to Robert J. Harris
& Doshie B Harris, both preceded her in death. Dorothy attended Dunbar/J S Abrams High School, graduating in 1963.
Because of the Christian values instilled in her at an early age, she was Baptized at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church at age eleven.  Dorothy was involved in many church activities. Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Young Adult Choir and Secretary of the Sunday School.
After high school Dorothy relocated to Detroit, Michigan to live with her sister, Doretha Hopkins (who preceded her in death). Dorothy worked for the Madison Village as a cook until she retired in January of 2011. In December 1964, Dorothy married the love of her life, Forest L Ross. This union was blessed with four beautiful children. Dorothy departed this life on Thursday, December 03, 2020.
She fought a good fight against sickness in her final days with her children by her side "Well done thy good and faithful servant"
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory: her loving children, Andre ( Lashanda), Albany, GA,
Angela, Atlanta, GA, Anthony ( Sapphira), Birmingham, AL, Damon ( Monica ) Madison,
AL ;Her brother, James L Harris , Detroit, MI. ; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren;
and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
