Darryl Dewayne Coleman

Darryl DeWayne Coleman, affectionately known as "Dee- Dee" and "Stick Daddy", was born to his beautiful, loving mother, Ovetta Cunningham-Coleman and the late Erskine Coleman on January 12, 1969.

Dee-Dee departed this life on October 5, 2024, at his home in Centerpoint, Alabama. He was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama where Dr. Victor Harkins, Sr. is the pastor.

Dee-Dee attended and graduated from J. S. Abrams High School in 1984, in Bessemer, Alabama. Dee-Dee was the life of the party. He loved to dance, sing, entertain, go fishing at Eastlake Park and make memories with family and close friends.

He was employed at Glasforms as machine operator. Later, he was employed as a Termite Inspector at Terminix in Birmingham, Alabama.

Dee-Dee was united in Holy Matrimony to April Johnson-Coleman since 2005.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: son, Darryl (three grandsons); stepdaughter, Brittany (MiKenzzi); stepson, Wayne (Nala); siblings, the late Raymond Cunningham, Tanga Ulmer, Tonya Lucas-Pruitt (Greg), Tamiko Coleman-Ward (Darryl), Maquita Coleman, Phyllis Coleman, and Eric Coleman; nephews, the late Anthony Lucas, Jr. (Mane), Triston Cunningham, Deveonte Coleman, Turrell Cunningham, Montereous Morris, Bradley Griggs, Jr. and Coleman Gregory; nieces, Shondrea Griggs, Myldrallah Lucas, Shekinah Ward, Jozarah Berry; loving stepfather, the late Joe Coleman, Jr.; loving stepmother, Marcia Coleman; host of loving and special aunts, cousins, great nieces and nephews.
