Cordelia Ann Thomas Bailey

Mrs. Cordelia Ann Thomas, a beacon of love and joy to all who knew her, was born on June 30, 1966. She was the eleventh of twelve children cherished and dearly loved by the late Mary Frances and Charlie Nib Thomas of Bessemer, Alabama.

At an early age, she confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her love of God and his word provided a strong foundation in her life.

Cordelia's early life experiences led her to live a life filled with compassion for those surrounding her. She took pleasure in nurturing others and thereby successfully received certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant. For many years, her dedication and commitment in the workforce went hand-in-hand with her kind heart and desire to comfort and help others.

Cordelia's love for family was no comparison to anything else in her life. Being a parent suited her perfectly. She was a loving mother to her three children, Dontereas Thomas, Charlisa Wilson and Deondra Thomas. However, her grandchildren, Tameria Thomas Wilkes, De'Andra Thomas, Kayanna Thomas, Benjamin Woody, Jr., Brianna Woody, Dillon Thomas and Deon Wilson and great granddaughter, Taliyah Wilkes meant the world to her as well.

Sharing and loving others developed during her childhood growing up with her sister, Mary McGhee of Memphis, TN and five brothers, Richard Brown of Atlanta, GA, Howard Brown of Atlanta, GA, Charles Brown of Columbus, GA, Donny Thomas of Atlanta, GA and Patrick Thomas of Bessemer, AL as well as the five siblings who preceded her in death, Velma Williams, Thelma Brown, Willie Brown, Johnny Brown and Gregory Thomas.

The life Cordelia lived was marked by her commitment to her family and those she held closely to her heart. Her kind spirit will be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who were blessed to know her.
