Clyde Lane was born in Knoxville, Tennessee and gave his life to the Lord at a young age. He was a member of the Lane Family Singers and was a part of the Cas Walker Radio Show in that capacity. After moving to Alabama, he became a member of South Park Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Deacon. Much later in life, he joined First Baptist Church with his family in Northport where Reverend Carlos Calhoun is pastor.
Most of his life, Clyde worked in some form of construction. He was employed by Houston Construction Company in Tennessee where he became close friends with the owner, Allen Houston and learned multiple trades. As an Alabama resident, he formed the Lane Concrete Finishing Company that he owned and managed until retirement.
Affectionately known as "Big Daddy" he loved his family and was dedicated to caring for them since his youth. He enjoyed spending time with them and was well known for his famous barbeques. He welcomed everyone with a huge smile. He loved singing, fishing, hunting, and mentoring young people. He will be deeply missed but we take comfort in knowing he will forever be healthy and happy in a "sweeter land, way beyond the sky."
