Claudia Robinson

As our family honors and celebrate the homegoing of our beloved, we are touched by the love and kindness received. Claudia Mae Finley Robinson was born to the late Claude and Maggie Finley on September 22, 1942, in Bessemer, Alabama.
At an early age, she accepted Christ at Greater 14th Street Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend C. A. Fred. She remained faithful throughout her spiritual journey.
As a product of the Birmingham City Schools, she was a proud graduate in the Class of 1960 at Wenonah High School. After more than 30 years of dedicated service, she retired as Supervisor of Household Management at South Haven Nursing Home.
In 1961, on August 28, she united in Holy Matrimony with the love of her life, Elverage Robinson, Sr. They shared in the joy of loving and caring for their two children, Elverage, Jr. and LaQuitta Mechelle.
Her sparkling personality bonded miraculously with her four wonderful grandchildren. To each of them she was the best and most fantastic grandmother and her love for them was highly visible and always present. Besides, her love for family was unlimited. Her giving heart and joy of sharing precious moments and love were exceptional. Her many friends were also recipients of her unending love and joy, especially those she would talk with frequently. Additionally, she had a warm and caring spirit. She was wise, brilliant and kind. The compassion she had for life, the joy she had for dancing, the devotion she had for sewing and the aspiration she had for collecting were extensive. As an avid collector of novels, she treasured and accumulated boxes and boxes of best sellers and vintage Harlequin Romance Novels.
The Robinson/Harris Family has lost a loving mother, an amazing grandmother, a devoted in-law and an outstanding friend. On Wednesday, December 29, 2021, in the presence of her beloved family, Claudia accepted the will of the Lord, took the hands of the angels and departed this earthly life. As she enters His gates with praise, she will not be alone. Her predeceased parents, husband, Elverage Robinson, Sr.; son, Elverage Robinson, Jr.; all five of her siblings and son-in-law, James Porte Harris will welcome her as she gains her wings.
Gathered to comfort each other in grief and to honor the life of our beloved Claudia is her devoted daughter, LaQuitta Mechelle Robinson Harris; loving grandchildren, Elverage “Tre” Robinson, III, Alyssa Harris, Nicholas Harris and Christopher Harris; dearest, daughter-in-law, Wanda Robinson; dedicated sisters-in-law, Donna Nunez and Carol Robinson; faithful brother-in-law, Reverend Floyd (Reverend Bertha) Robinson; endearing childhood and best friends, Lettie Mae Lawrence, Barbara Reese and Winifred Nunn and a host of other relatives and friends.
