Claudette Long was born to the late Frances Moore Heard and Claude Warren.
At an early age, she confessed her life to Christ under the leadership of Reverend Anthony Clark and was baptized.
Claudette was educated in the Bessemer City School system and a graduate of Jess Lanier High School. Upon graduating from high school, her desire to strive for excellence led her to Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. She successfully earned a Bachelor's Degree and chose Beaumont, Texas as her home of residence. After more than 23 years of dedicated service, she retired from the Beaumont Independent School District.
Claudette was united in Holy Matrimony with Robert Long. Their union represented many years of love, devotion, and togetherness and to this union two loving sons were born, Corey and Jeremy Long.
Politics was of great interest to Claudette, and she was well-informed to speak about political issues on any given day. However, her lifelong and unending joys were reading, writing and cooking. To know her was to love her. She will be genuinely missed in the lives of those she touched.
On Sunday, June 23, 2024, God sent his angels and Claudette transitioned from her earthly life to her Heavenly home. Her devotion and firm belief in God gave her peace. She is now in God's Kingdom with her loved ones.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted husband of forty-two years, Robert Long; two loving sons that she adored, Corey and Jeremy Long; five sisters, Debra (Aubrey) Townsend of Birmingham, AL, Sharon Wyatt of Bessemer, AL, Wanda (Eddie) Tyrus of Midfield, AL, Cynthia (Michael) Taylor of Bessemer, AL and Dr. Claudia K. Tucker; four brothers, Marvin (Maxine) Moore of Fairfield, AL, Sylvester (Machelle) Moore of Atlanta, Ga., Robert (Michelle) Moore of Birmingham, AL, and Clark Warren, Jr.: grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends
