CHARLIE PIPPENS, beloved son, husband, father and grandfather, made his transition from earth to heaven on June 22, 2014. Pastor Charlie Pippens was born on May 15, 1944 to the late L.C. Pippens and Othis Pippens in Eutah, Alabama. As a child, he attended Green County Training School. He was called to Christ at an early age and was baptized. Pastor Pippens was united in marriage to Linda Sanders on January 17, 1966. To this union of 48½ years two children were born, Eric and Temieka. Pastor Pippens was a very hard worker. He worked forty-eight (48) years in the bakery industry. He was called into the Ministry of Christ in 1977; and was later ordained by Pastor L.C. Walker of First Baptist Church, South Bessemer. He began his pastoral at Spring Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in July, 1978. He was also president of the Minister's In Action. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric C. Pippens, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Linda Pippens; son, Eric Pippens; daughter, Temieka Simpson; his mother, Othis Pippens; three sisters, Dorbry Veal (Melvin) of Indiana, Emma of New York and Lillian of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandchildren, Ashley, Darien and Quin; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Upon the death of his wife's mother, he was instrumental in the nurturing care of his wife's siblings: Cathy, Jeffrey, Bruce, Ray, Gwen and Erices.
