Charles Williams was born on October 2, 1949 to Philip and Reatha Williams. Charles was a loving son, devoted husband, compassionate brother, giving uncle and a fighter to the end. He served his Country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1968-1974. He later became Supervisor of Ma Reatha's Restaurant where he served for seventeen years. Charles lost his fight on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at UAB Hospital. He was preceded in death by: father, Philip Williams, Sr.; daughter, Marcia Williams; granddaughter, "Baby Williams"; grandparents, Clinton and Ruby Johnson, Jackson and Sophia Williams; brother, Philip Williams, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Abe Johnson, Sr., and Gregory Brooks; nephews, Barry "BJ" Edwards and Michael "Mike C" Crumady. He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Sharon Williams; daughters, Charnele Williams, Charlina Stewart (John), Cheryl Long (Anthony); his mother, Reatha Williams; brothers, Jimmy (Wanda), Willie (Mary), Steven (Gwendolyn) Williams, all of Birmingham; sisters, Alene Johnson (R.C. Rogers), Carolyn Winfield, Cornelius Williams all of Birmingham, Jessie Crumady (Charlie) of Providence, RI; two grandsons; three granddaughters; aunt, Amanda Amerson; father and mother-in-law, Julie and Charlie Willis; brothers-in-law, Terrance Brooks (Kelly), Roger Willis, Maurice Brooks of Birmingham, AL, Barbara Oliver (Rev. John Oliver) of Anniston, AL, Deloris Radford (Rev. Curtis Radford), Maxine Harrison, Katrina Harris all of Birmingham, AL and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great nieces, cousins and friends.
