Sister Celonia Stephens Gamble was bored on September 8, 1939 to the union of the late Lethonia Stephens and Julia Brown Stephens. She confessed Christ as her Savior at an early age at Star Light Baptist Church. She later united with 21st Street Baptist Church after moving to South Bessemer. She united with Canaan Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Horace Tuner where she served faithfully until death. She graduated from Wenonah High School and continued her education at Weston Olin School of Nursing. Celonia loved caring for people and was a nurse for over 30 years at UAB Hospital Spain Rehabilitation, Traveling Home Healthcare and various health facilities. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late James T. Gamble, Jr. on April 21, 1965. To this union five children were born. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Thomas Dewayne Gamble and Marcus Gamble Bell, two brothers, Lethonia Stephens and Willie Brown (Arbria) and one sister Irene Cole (Red). Celonia leaves to rejoice her homegoing: three sons, Conrade Ray Gamble (Stacy), James Eric Gamble (Elizabeth), Michael Anthony Gamble (Special Friend Sonya); two daughters, Willie Marie Stephens, Casandra Faye Gamble Bell; Nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters Earnest Brown (Lillie), Ann Parker, Joan Miller, Julia Renford, Tillie Freeman (John), Fitzgearld Stephens (Carter) and Deason Larry Stephens; a hose of living nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends
