A Loving Tribute Carolyn Rose May Gamble was born, November 26, 1946, to the late Clarence and Corrie Sanders May in Jefferson County, Alabama. She departed this life on Monday, May 2, 2016, after a sudden and short illness. Carolyn accepted Christ at an early age. She later became a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. W. M. Norwood, Sr., on April 27, 1969, and remained a family and dedicated member until her death. She was a faithful servant and member of the W. M. Norwood Usher Board and adored her fellow church family. Her life may seem too short to many, but it exemplifies a life dedicated to others and filled with love of human kindness and compassion. She definitely a person to brighten and made better the lives of her family and friends. Carolyn graduated from Ullman High School in 1965. She worked at Children’s Hospital for many years and retired from Dr. Charles Baldwin, practice. After retirement, still having a little more love and service to give, she worked for Dr. James Lewis and Sam’s Club Wholesale. She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted son Rico D. May (Marva); two grandchildren, Rico D. May, Jr. and Hope J. May; three sisters, Dorothy Mack, Emma “Pearl” Thomas, both of Birmingham, AL, and Bennie Darden (Daniel) Montgomery, AL; two brothers, Carlton May (Rose), and Charles May, both of Birmingham, AL; Special God sister, Augusta George; God grand-daughter, Little Miss Christian P. Johnson; Special niece (daughter) Tracey Neely and special great niece and nephew (grandchildren) Erinne Chambers and Augustas Charles Chambers IV; a host of other special nieces and nephews, family, friends and coworkers.
