Obituary Bridgette Michelle Hawkins was born May 30, 1974 at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham, AL to Edward E. Carter and the late Gail L. Carter. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. John Baptist Church in Dolomite. She later rededicated her life to Christ and joined the New Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. William H. Walker, Sr. where she remained until her heavenly departure. She attended Saint Francis Assisi Catholic School and attended Fairfield High School but was a graduate of Wenonah High School class of 1992. Bridgett worked at Children’s Hospital as a Neurology Technician for 18 years while also working at Legacy Rehabilitation in Pleasant Grove and was currently employed at Glenwood Autism and Behavior Health Center. Bridgett was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was a member of The Order of Eastern Star, Friendly Sister 28. The clock of life is wound but once. No man has the power to tell just when the clock may be still. On Monday, August 22, 2016 the clock of life had chimed its last time and Bridgett was called to receive her heavenly reward. She was proceeded in death by Thomas A. Scott (Grandfather), Vera Mae Scott (Grandmother), Rosa L. Harris (Grandmother), Beverly Todd (Aunt), Helen Boyer (Aunt), Eula Hawkins (Mother in-law) and Gail L. Carter (Mother). She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Rodney L. Hawkins, Sr.; two sons, Rodney L. Hawkins, Jr. and Jonathan K. Hawkins; one daughter, Rod’neikkia S. Maye; father, Edward E. (Carrie Gail) Carter; four sisters, Francine Ellis (Detroit, MI), Lisa Carter, Beverly (Donnie) Stewart and Shayla James; two nieces, Earlecia Carter, Shaylee Smith; four nephews, Adrian Ellis (Detroit, MI), Christon Mines, Quantel Gray, and Asthon Moore; father-in-law, Leroy Hawkins; one sister in-law, Ashley Warren; one god-daughter, Harmony Michelle Deet; special friends, Livia Pleasant, Bernadette Winn, Kenyetta Davis, Delicia King and a host of other relatives and friends. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
