Beverly Holmes

Beverly “Jean” Holmes, 66, gained her wings on February 14, 2022. She was born August 28, 1955, in Bessemer, AL, the daughter of L. D. Holmes, Sr. and Julia Mae Holmes.
Jean graduated from Midfield High School, Class of 1973 as well as attended Lawson State Community College. After school she spent a number of years working for UAB Emergency Room and retired from UAB Conference Center. Jean enjoyed traveling cross country, attending family functions, and watching after her fur grand-babies.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Gevon Snyder.
In addition to her sons, Jarvis and Tavares, she leaves to cherish her memory seven siblings: L. D. Holmes, Jr., Thomas Holmes, Kenneth Holmes, Kerry Holmes, Patricia Holmes, Cynthia Terry and Gwen Blevins; daughter-in-law: Dayana Holmes; three grandchildren: Gabby, Carl, and Mekcorria McGhee; ten great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, church members, and friends.
A service of remembrance will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1401 26th St. N, Bessemer, AL. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 3115 18th Ave. N, Bessemer, AL. Arrangements made by Chambers Funeral Home.
