Obituary Beulah Mae Hayes was born May 28, 1926 the daughter of Bessie Mathis and Eddie Huff. Early in life she received Christ as her Savior in Vance, Alabama. Later in life she relocated to Bessemer, Alabama and became a member of Beulah Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Marshall. Beulah loved her family and friends immensely. She never met a stranger because of her kind nature and treatment towards others. She had many hobbies that she loved to partake in. One in particular involved her best friend of over thirty-three years, Stella Foster, where they would go fishing together. An avid lover of the Blues she enjoyed the sounds of B.B. King, Bobby Blue Bland and Johnny Taylor. Beulah thoroughly enjoyed cooking. She would always make her famous sweet tea, banana pudding and sweet potato pies. She knew what it meant to love God, herself and others. Even in her kind nature she would still speak her mind. The beautiful aspect of her was that she was very forgiving and treated everyone with love and respect. She loved her late husband, Eddie Hayes. Whenever she would speak of him, her eyes would twinkle like stars and her face would glow. They adored one another. She was preceded in death by: sisters, Eileen Bryant and Mary Hicks; brothers, Johnnie Kelley, Eddie “Junebug” Johnson and Walter Johnson; Sister-in-law, Angelene Johnson; brothers-in-law, Joe Bryant and Robert Lee, Sr. Beulah transitioned peacefully at home on May 1, 2016.
