Bessie Scott

Obituary
Sister Bessie L. Scott was born November 3, 1949 in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Willie and Ellena Avery. She was educated in the Bessemer School System and later moved to Detroit, Michigan where she graduated from Trinity High School. Later she attended Wayne State Community College School of Culinary Arts. For many years Bessie worked as a dedicated caregiver.
Bessie enjoyed being around family, friends, traveling, taking pictures, cooking and listening to music. Her infectious smile and beautiful laugh warmed the hearts of whoever encountered her.
She was preceded in death by: husband, Lionel Scott; grandson, Devon Avery, Jr.
Left to cherish her precious memories are: sons, Rodney (Brenda) Avery, Devon (Toni) Avery and Lionel Scott; daughter, Cynthia Scott; granddaughter, Jayvonna Avery; grandson, Theodruss Avery; six great grandchildren; sisters, Geraldine Beamon, Shellie (Vincent) Combs and Inez (Derrick) Patterson; and a host of nephews and nieces.
