II Timothy 4:6-8 Berta Mae Warner, was born September 10, 1930 in Perry County, Alabama to the late Beverly and Deola Oakes. Berta Mae accepted Christ at an early age and united with Perryville Baptist Church. After moving to Bessemer, Alabama she united with First Baptist Church, Old Jonesboro under the leadership of the late Reverend W.C. Ward. She served faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher for the Children's Ministry until her health failed. Berta Mae married the late Thomas Roosevelt Warner on May 5, 1960. She departed this life on Tuesday, December 26 at 5:39 p.m. Berta Mae leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Wilfred Lynn Warner (Muriel); two daughters, Dr. Cassandra Warner Frieson (Tommy) and Amanda Warner; four grandchildren; two sisters, Inez Robertson (Johnny) and Ruby (Reverend Cephas) Simmons; one brother, Reverend Jesse Lee Oakes (Valerie); several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
