Arwilder Harris was born on April 21, 1929, in Bessemer, Alabama, to the late Mr. Lawrence Harris and Mrs. Georgianna Hill Harris. Arwilder was educated in the Birmingham School System. She confessed faith in Christ at an early age. On Sunday, March 11, 2012, she was called home to rest. She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Reymona (Amos) Sanders, Seabie A. Canada, Melvin (Edith) Harris Sr., and Helen A. Sullivan; special children, Frederick Jones, Cassandra Green, Patricia Underwood, Lucinda Turner, Pam Ross, Emma Jones, and Christopher Jones; grandchildren, Amos (Lisa) Sanders Jr., Eugene (LaTesa) Sanders, Robbie (Chris) Sims, Frederick Sanders, Carole (Derrick) Battle, Rosalind Harris, Patrick (Richlyn) Harris, Gwendolyn Sanders, Stephanie Sanders, Melvin (Karlisa) Harris Jr., Shaun Harris, Brenda Eatmon, Francis Sullivan, Jerome Eatmon, Janika Patterson, AnTasha Womack, and Shanté Harris; daughters-in-law, Barbara Harris and Pamela Womack; brothers, Ernest (Florence) Harris and Robert (Sallie) Harris Sr.; sisters, Annie Bell Johns and Elizabeth (Paul) Scarbrough; aunt, Helen Hill; thirty-one great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, family, and friends. Two sons preceded her in death, Willie Charles Harris and James Y. Womack.
