Antonio Tanzil King, Sr. was born on February 18, 1977. He was the second eldest of four highly active boys entrusted to Donna (Swope) King and Anthony King, Sr. As the first grandchild born on his mother's side, Antonio "Tony" automatically thought he was the favorite of the more than sixteen other grandchildren that would come. The truth is he was special as the "first grandchild." Tony was educated in the Birmingham Public School System. He received his General Education Diploma from Gadsden Job Corps where he was one of the featured students on the Alabama Job Corps Calendar. Tony served honorably in the United States Army for four and a half years with service in Korea. While in the service, Tony received several awards including two Army Achievement Medals (AAM). Prior to his passing, Tony was employed with the Unifirst Company as a truck driver. Early in his life he attended tabernacle Baptist Church and later New Shady Grove Baptist Church.
