The Life of Andrea Lanette "Drea" Dawson
Ms. Andrea Lanette Dawson, affectionately known as "Drea ", was born on September 4, 1959 to Anntoniette Banks and Hiawatha Dawson. Andrea was raised in a Catholic Christian home and educated in the Bessemer City School system. She graduated from Jackson S. Abrams High School in 1977, and enlisted into the United States Army.
Andrea had a zest for life, and she was well known and loved by so many. She loved children and was the favorite "Auntie". She never met a stranger, and will always be remembered for her love for music and dancing. Drea always was the first to conquer any new moves, and would then teach them to all the other children in the neighborhood. She was one of the first female drum majors of the
J.S. Abrams marching Blue Devils.
Andrea was preceded in death by her long time devoted friend, Willie Hardy, Jr.
