Allene Lynell Williams, known to many as "Nell" was born November 14, 1958 to the late Mr. Allen Williams and Cora Williams in Bessemer, Alabama. She was the second of four children. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Samuel Marshall. Allene was educated in the Bessemer City School System and was a 1976 graduate of J.S. Abrams High School. She continued her education at Miles College, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree. While at Miles College, she pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority. Allene began her career in education with the Bessemer City School System in 1992. She served as a substitute teacher and a Para-educator for students with special needs (Jess Lanier High School). She later was employed as a computer lab manager (New Horizon Alternative) and then was hired as a Computer Technology Teacher (Jess Lanier) in 2003. Her Passion to educate children was evident in the caring and supportive manner in which she impacted their lives especially those students with special needs.
