Alfred James “Nuck” Davis was born on December 20, 1954 to the late Thomas
Jackson and Charlie Mae Davis. As a native of Birmingham, he was educated in the Birmingham City School System graduating as a proud member of the Wenonah High School’s Class of 1973.
“Nuck” accepted Christ at an early age and rededicated his life to Christ later in life. He was a faithful member of Rising Star Baptist Church and frequently worshipped at New Hope Baptist Church.
After graduation “Nuck” was employed by Alabama by Products, Jim Walters and US. Steel for many years. He was known as one of the best brick mason/coal miners in the city of Birmingham. He was a devoted mentor to many young men throughout the Birmingham area. Because of his loving and friendly nature, “Nuck” rarely met a stranger in his lifetime and anyone who met him would quickly agree that he lit up any room he entered. He would be sure to let everyone know that he was “ The Best To Ever Do It” & “The Greatest Of All Time. ”
“Nuck” loved his family dearly and wanted the world to know. From his unions of love, six children were born. Mario Hoskins, Tia Davis, Kanitra Davis-Thomas (Rodney), Alfred James Davis II, Brielle Young-Olds (Orin) and Lillian Davis.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother Leonard Davis. He answered the Master’s call on May 5, 2018.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his seven children; eight brothers, Donald Davis, Marvin Davis, Thomas Jackson Jr. (Patricia), Donice Palmore, Kenny Jackson, Demetrice Jackson, Ronnie Jackson, Jason Jackson; nine sisters, Pamalia Jones, Lawana Grier, Edwina Robinson, Angela Tinsley (Eddie), Debra Rucker (Willie), Shelia Jackson, Voncile Swoopes, Judy Jackson, and Karen Green; six grandchildren; special uncle, Edward Luster, and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, friends and the entire Outcast Family
