Alfonzo Bishop

Alfonzo Bishop was the Fourth child born to the late Ted and Lorean Bishop on August 20, 1958. He received his educational training at Council Elementary School, Western Olin High School and Bessemer State Technical School. He worked as a painter for State Technical School. He worked as a painter for many years until he became disabled because of health problems. Alfonzo was baptized at an early age at Hopewell Baptist Church, Ensley, AL. He attended St. Joseph Baptist Church, Yerwood, AL under Reverend Earnest Hood and later moved his membership to New Hope Baptist Church under Pastor Gregory Clarke where he sang with the male chorus. He married Kathy Woodard in September, 2005 and became father to her daughter Toni Renee Woodard, a daughter he truly loved as his own. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ted and Lorean Bishop, Sister; Rochelle B Terrell; brother Wilburn Bishop. He closed his eyes to rest on Friday January 27, 2012. Left to cherish his memories are: a loving and devoted wife Kathy Bishop, daughter, Toni R. Woodard; sister Deloris Tubbs (Preston); brother Ted Bishop, Jr.; Nieces Netra betttels, Ashley Bishop, Tiara Bishop, Brenda Bishop, Charity guy (Michael), Zoria Edwards; nephews Darius Bettles, Braylon Bettles, Demetrius Bennett, Donalt Travis (Rashda), SirArthur Edwards, Mi'Kell Guy; special and close cousin Corrine Hawkins; and many, many other cousins, relatives and friends.
