Agnes Crenshaw

Obituary Agnes Deloise Bell Crenshaw was born October 24, 1930 in Mobile, Alabama to Mary and Swept Bell, Sr.. She was given back to God on the morning of September 20, 2016 sleeping into an eternal resting place. Agnes did what we all should do by confessing Christ at an early age and joining Hopewell Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama in the neighborhood of Prichard. She was raised by her brother Leroy because her parents preceded her in death. She was educated in the Mobile County school system and taught in a training school. Being the caring person that she was, she came to take care of her aunt and uncle until they went home to be with the Lord. Muscoda, Alabama is where she left her legacy and history by being a good and faithful servant at Starlight Baptist Church. Never complaining, no matter how she was feeling, she would go to church every Sunday sitting on the second or third pew until she no longer could.  She was a member of the National Mission Society as well. Always speaking of the Lord, how good He is; how trouble don’t last always, and she would always say “Thank you Lord for letting me see another days journey”. She was a Christian with a humble soul. A woman of great talents, one being she was the BEST, the GREATEST Dietary cook for the Bessemer School System. Her cinnamon and yeast rolls could be listed in the “Lunchroom Ladies Hall of Fame”. People from far and near would ask, “Ms. Agnes do you still bake those rolls?” and she would say, “I can but I don’t I left it to Vickie.”  She was the best mother, grandmother and great grandmother that any child could ask for. She loved everyone in the same manner. She was very affectionate as well. She was known as Ma, Moma, Granny, Grandma Aq and answered to them all. She was the best mother-in-law to Dennis LaNeal Coats and she loved him dearly and affectionately calling him Den Den. She was also the best mother-in-law too Sheryl Jefferson whom she also loved dearly. Everlasting memories that she leaves with her family: children, Vickie (Dennis) Coats and Jerrell (Carmen) Bell; siblings, Geneva Runderson and Willie Bell both of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Deneisha, Kortne, Antoine (Isabella), Jerrell, Jr., Nekia, LaQuieta and Brian; great grandchildren, Jukia, Antonio, Ariel, Ariana, JaKayla, Carlos, Jr., and DeAunte’; great-great grandchildren, Nickolas, Antonio, Tania, NiAshia and Marquese; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Dumas and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors who loved her.
